Protect Your Money

These simple steps will keep you ahead of scammers.

A man stays ahead of scammers by checking his security details on the UWCU mobile app.

Just when you think you know the latest financial scams, a new one comes along. Scammers constantly change up their schemes to try to gain access to your accounts. It’s important to be one step ahead to keep your money safe.

Be careful with phone calls identifying as UW Credit Union.
Remember, UW Credit Union will never ask you to share verification codes or login information with us over the phone. If you receive a phone call requesting you to verify identity due to suspicious activity on your account, don’t respond. Hang up and call us at 800-533-6773 or send a secure message through Web Branch or our mobile app.

Create a unique username and password for your UW Credit Union online banking.
Every username and password you use online should be different. If you use the same username and password on a site that’s been compromised, scammers can use that information to trick you into providing verification codes to gain access to your accounts.

Never click the link. If you receive an email or text message asking you to verify a transaction or reactivate your account by clicking a link, don’t do it. We will never ask you to click a link for verification.

As scammers become more aggressive, it’s important to be alert and keep your accounts protected. And remember, we’re here for you. If you ever have any concerns or questions, please contact us.
