Teaming Up On and Off the Court
Nothing but net when this Badgers point guard switched over to UW Credit Union.
After a very exciting first season on the Badgers basketball team—you may have heard about "The Chucky Special" during the Big Ten Championship game—I knew I needed to get serious about my banking. Partnerships were starting to roll in and I wanted to find a secure place to put my hard-earned money.
Before coming to school at UW-Madison, I decided to go with my parents' bank, which was a national financial institution. When my parents changed banks, I did, too.
I didn't know much about credit unions, but I decided to check out UW Credit Union since it is conveniently located around campus. When I first walked in the door at the State Street branch, everybody was very friendly to me. That's what I really liked. Everybody at UW Credit Union is friendly and makes you feel at home and welcome, and I love that.
Seems like making you feel at home is part of the credit union difference. Once you open an account (with as little as $5) at UW Credit Union, you become a member, which also means you are an owner. Every member has an equal voice and vote in how the credit union is run, no matter the size of their account balance.
Plus, I think it's great that UW Credit Union is part of the Badgers family. They were created by members, for members, right here on campus. They're also a proud sponsor of Wisconsin Athletics, a connection that means a lot to me. I appreciate that UW Credit Union is here for me, on and off the court.
They helped me open a checking account and get set up on the app. I definitely love using the app. It's the easiest thing—you just go on and log in. It's always on your phone, so it's with you wherever you go. I'm also not shy about showing off my Badger spirit every time I pull out my Bucky debit card.
I've had good experiences with UW Credit Union so far, and I'm excited to use their services even more as I start gaining more sponsorships. I know they will always be here for me, through my college years and beyond, and I'll love banking with them even more.
Founded in 1931 on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus by people passionate about helping people, UW Credit Union is a steady and strong financial institution. We continue to work side by side with the university and value the relationships we’ve made on campus and beyond in the past 90-plus years.
